DONATION REFUND POLICY

Balmitra Jan Kalyan Foundation

Last Updated: August 2026

Balmitra Jan Kalyan Foundation ("Foundation", "we", "us" or "our") accepts voluntary donations and contributions to support its charitable and social objectives. This Donation Refund Policy explains when a donation may be reviewed for refund, reversal or correction.

1. General Donation Policy

Donations made to Balmitra Jan Kalyan Foundation are voluntary contributions made to support the Foundation's charitable objectives, programmes and activities.

A donor cannot normally cancel or request a refund merely because they have changed their mind, no longer wish to support the Foundation, or have a change in personal circumstances.

2. When a Refund or Reversal May Be Considered

The Foundation may review a refund, reversal or correction request in genuine circumstances, including:

• An unauthorized or fraudulent transaction.
• Duplicate payment made accidentally.
• A technical error resulting in an incorrect or excess payment.
• A payment that was debited from the donor but was not successfully received by the Foundation.
• A payment gateway or banking error requiring reversal or correction.
• A refund or reversal required by applicable law, regulatory direction or the relevant payment service provider.

The Foundation will review each such request based on the available transaction records and supporting information.

3. Donations Already Allocated or Utilized

Where a donation has already been allocated, committed or utilized for a charitable programme, welfare activity, project, beneficiary support, operational requirement or other lawful purpose of the Foundation, the Foundation may not be able to provide a refund.

The fact that a particular programme has not yet been completed does not by itself create a right to cancel or recover a donation.

4. How to Request a Refund or Correction

A donor who believes that their transaction qualifies for review should submit a written request through the Foundation's official email address.

The request should include, where available:

• Donor's full name.
• Email address and mobile number used for the transaction.
• Donation amount.
• Transaction ID or payment reference number.
• Date of payment.
• Mode of payment or payment gateway used.
• Reason for requesting the refund, reversal or correction.
• Any supporting document reasonably required to verify the transaction.

The Foundation may request additional information where reasonably necessary to verify the request and prevent fraudulent refund claims.

5. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved, it will normally be processed through the original payment method or through the applicable payment gateway or banking channel, subject to their procedures and processing timelines.

Eligible refunds or reversals will normally be initiated within 7 to 10 working days after approval and successful verification of the request. The actual time taken for the amount to appear in the donor's account may depend on the bank, payment gateway or other payment service provider.

6. Verification and Fraud Prevention

The Foundation reserves the right to verify the identity of the donor, transaction details and supporting information before approving any refund or reversal request.

A refund request may be declined where the transaction cannot reasonably be verified, appears fraudulent, is made by an unauthorized person, or does not meet the conditions of this policy or applicable law.

7. Tax and Donation Receipts

Where a donation receipt or other tax-related document has already been issued, the donor may be required to provide or return relevant documentation, or follow any applicable correction procedure, before an approved refund or reversal can be completed.

Any tax treatment of a refunded or reversed donation will be subject to applicable tax laws and the donor's individual circumstances.

The Foundation does not guarantee any particular tax treatment or benefit to a donor.

8. No Automatic Five-Day Cancellation Right

Unless the Foundation expressly provides otherwise in writing for a particular campaign or donation arrangement, there is no automatic five-day cancellation or refund period for successfully completed donations.

Any refund or reversal will be considered only in accordance with this policy, applicable law, payment-provider rules and the circumstances of the transaction.

9. Third-Party Payment Services

Where a donation is processed through a third-party payment gateway, bank, UPI service or other payment provider, that provider may have its own terms, procedures and processing timelines.

The Foundation will reasonably cooperate with the relevant payment provider where a legitimate transaction reversal, correction or refund is required.

10. Policy Changes

The Foundation may update this Donation Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its donation process, payment systems, programmes, applicable laws or regulatory requirements.

The latest version will be published on this page with the revised "Last Updated" date, where applicable.
